New Trier High School, a nationally renowned public school, is located in Winnetka. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush each held private fundraising dinners in private homes in Winnetka, Illinois. President Clinton visited in 1996. President Bush visited the home of Patrick Ryan on July 22, 2004. The dinner was a private fundraiser for the Republican Party. First Lady Laura Bush and her daughters later visited the same home on September 24, 2004 for a fundraiser that focused on women's issues. Attractions: A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center, shopping in three distinctive shopping areas, the Indian Hill Area, the Elm Street Area, and the Hubbard Woods Area.
