Rolling Meadows is a close-knit community that boasts excellent schools and a park district that offers a wide range of recreational activities. Their motto "A Great Place to Call Home" Rolling Meadows is a Cook County suburb covering an area of 5.5 square miles. Rolling Meadows incorporated in 1955 as a city named for its gently rolling terrain, and soon began annexing land for future development. The town boomed during the 1950s and 1960s as businesses moved into the area. Large corporations such as 3Com, Helene Curtis, Northrop Grumman, Charles Industries and Pepsi corporations providing a solid tax base for its residents. This has become known as the Golden Corridor, offering to the residents a place to live and work.

The Rolling Meadows Park District offers: Eleven parks with lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and picnic areas; a nature preserve with hiking trails; the Nelson Sports Complex, which features an indoor ice area, a fitness center, swimming pool and more; a community center that offers programs for persons of all ages; and the West Meadows Ice Arena, which features an NHL-size indoor rink.

The Northwest Cultural Council, one of the most active and successful arts organizations in the suburbs calls Rolling Meadows home. An exceptional art gallery, an annual writer's conference and poetry readings every month are just a few of the Council's offerings.
