Buffalo Grove is turning 50 this year!! Buffalo Grove derives its healthy sense of community from village-wide events and its active neighborhoods, schools, libraries, churches and the Park District, which serves as a sort of town center. Community participation is nowhere more center stage than at the annual Buffalo Grove Days, a huge and hugely popular festival that began in 1954 as a block party and now has more than 65,000 visitors each year.

Buffalo Grove experienced one of most rapid population explosions in the northwest suburbs. Excellent village management and planning has created a town that blends lively urban atmosphere with beautiful rural communities. More than 400 acres of open land comprises Buffalo Grove's park district which includes 45 parks, two public golf courses and multiple biking and walking trails. Seasonal and holiday carnivals and celebrations take place year-round including a juried fine arts fair. Known for its low crime rates, cleanliness, good food and lively community spirit, Buffalo Grove has it all. Buffalo Grove was included as one of "Fifty Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family" in a nationally published book by that title. According to a March 2003 issue of Chicago Magazine, Buffalo Grove was ranked 2nd of 192 suburbs as the “greatest place to live.”

Attractions:
Raupp Memorial Museum, a celebration of Buffalo Grove's founders, the Potowami Indians, has been recently renovated to become interactive and state of the art. A visitor can even - milk - the life-sized cow exhibit. Buffalo Grove Chamber of Commerce and Park District keep this city hopping with its craft fairs, festivals, parades and fireworks.

Eskape, appropriately titled, is Morton Grove's 60,000 square foot entertainment complex. Eskape offers 36 lanes of bowling, z multi-level laser-tag arena, indoor batting cages, an arcade, a night club and the Grillworks Restaurant--all under one roof.
